Iconcraft · Image to SVG icon
Turn an image or sketch into an SVG icon
Drop in a PNG, a screenshot of an old icon or a photo of a pencil sketch, and Iconcraft turns it into an editable vector icon. Keep it exactly as drawn, or use it as a guide for a cleaner version in your style.
Three ways to use a reference
- Stencil: traces the image as vectors in exactly the same proportions. Runs in your browser and is free.
- Copy angle: keeps the viewpoint and composition, redrawn in your chosen style.
- Copy style: borrows the look of the reference (stroke, fills, colour) for a new icon.
Works best with flat artwork
Icons, logos, line drawings and sketches convert cleanly. Photos and 3D renders can’t become crisp vector icons, so Iconcraft tells you when an image isn’t suitable instead of producing a messy trace.
Clean up and export
After tracing, edit nodes, merge shapes and snap to the pixel grid, then export SVG, PNG or React, or paste into Figma.
Questions
How do I convert a PNG icon to SVG?
Open the studio, add the PNG as a reference, choose Stencil and generate. You get an editable vector in the same proportions, ready to export as SVG.
Can I vectorise a hand-drawn sketch?
Yes. Photograph or scan the sketch and add it as a reference. Stencil traces it, or let AI redraw it as clean shapes.
Is image to SVG free?
Stencil tracing runs in your browser and is free, even without an account. AI redraws use credits.
